Trip to Kisielice Wind Farm

On 18th and 19th June 2012 Green Power Development Sp. z o.o. organised a trip to the wind farm in Kisielice Commune in Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship. The wind farm located in Łodygowo and Łęgowo villages has existed since 2007 and consists of 39 wind turbines. A number of participants took part in the trip: representatives of the Commune’s Office in Bogoria, County’s Office in Staszów, City’s and Commune’s Office in Staszów, representatives of community centre in Staszów and village administrators from Bogoria commune.
Participants found out how the local wind farm works and listened to the lecture of Kisielice’s mayor, Mr Tomasz Koprowiak, who spoke about challenges and benefits that the wind farm has brought to residents and the commune. It is worth mentioning that after a few years of the wind farm’s existence, 80-85% of Kisielice commune residents is either positive or neutral about the wind farm being in their neighborhood. During the trip there was also a detailed presentation about the planned wind farm in Bogoria commune which will consist of 10 turbines of 3MW each.
The participants claimed that this trip was very fruitful and necessary as they were able to see how such investment works in practice.
